Local Business to Host a Collection Box for Holiday Toy Drive

Offers Coupon to Anyone Who Makes a Donation

Simi Valley, California (November 17, 2011) – Sunny Barhagh has volunteered to host a toy collection box at her PostalAnnex+ store in the Wood Ranch Shopping Center.  Donations will go to the Simi Valley Community Christmas Shoppe, which benefits Simi Valley families in need.  Now through December 6, 2011, members of the community are encouraged to bring new toys, new clothing, sporting goods, bicycles, computers, or gift cards to Barhagh’s PostalAnnex+ at 543 Country Club Dr., Ste B.  Barhagh will give a coupon for $5 off shipping UPS or FedEx to anyone who brings a donation.

“We are so pleased to have the opportunity to host a collection box again,” says Barhagh, who has hosted collection boxes for the past three years.  “With the current economic conditions, so many families are in need, and we want to encourage members of our community to come together and bring some joy to a family.”

The Simi Valley Christmas Shoppe is part of the Annual Community Christmas Shoppes which are held in Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, Ventura, and Pt. Hueneme/Oxnard.   Volunteers from over 40 area churches serve over 1,000 local low income families by providing toys for Christmas.  Families qualify by getting an invitation from the ACTION Foundation and the Christmas Shoppe Team via participating social service organizations (Area Housing Authority, Project Understanding, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Tender Life, Lutheran Social Services, Neighborhood for Learning, and more.)  In Simi Valley alone, over 200 families will be able to shop for gifts.  This year’s Simi Valley Christmas Shoppe will be held Saturday, December 10th at StoneBridge Community Church.
