Thanksgiving Food Drive Hosted By Local Business Owners
Donations to Benefit the Round Rock Area Serving Center
Round Rock, Texas (October 31, 2011) – Shela and Anil Mistry, owners of the PostalAnnex+ next to the Randall’s Shopping Center off Gattis School Rd. and South A.w. Grimes Blvd., are hosting a food drive now through Thanksgiving to benefit the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Members of the community can bring donations of prepackaged and canned food to the Mistrys’ PostalAnnex+ at 2051 Gattis School Rd, Ste 540.
“The holidays can be a very stressful time for many,” said Shela. We want to be a gathering point for those who want to help others this season. The Round Rock community has supported us, so this is one way we can give back and support our community.”
The Center helps the Round Rock area by providing a variety of services including a food pantry, clothing & furniture vouchers, adult computer classes in English and Spanish, a charity thrift store and more. In 2010, the food pantry filled 12,537 food vouchers. The Serving Center relies heavily on donations from the community to accommodate the number of families they serve. Some of the most needed items include canned fruit and vegetables, canned soup, canned meat, pasta, rice and beans, and peanut butter.
In addition to being a food drop-off point, the Mistrys’ PostalAnnex+ store offers shipping choices through UPS, FedEx and the USPS, private mailbox rentals, packaging and shipping supplies, an assortment of office supplies, notary public service and more.
