Thanks to Jennifer Kurtz Rubin and her husband Michael, many people have enjoyed artsy fun painting ceramics.  In 1994, the couple started a ceramic studio called Petroglyph, which was one of the first places for people to paint ceramics.  Once again, thanks to Jennifer, there is more artsy fun to be had, this time in candle making.  In December 2012, Jennifer launched Glow Candle Lounge in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose, CA.  Glow is a unique art studio where San Jose locals and visitors can personalize candles without having to deal with messes and hot wax.

At Glow, candle making is fun and easy.  Participants first select a shape and fragrance from dozens of shapes and sizes of molds and more than 40 scents.  Next, candle makers choose their pips and fill their candle mold with chunks of wax.  A pip is a small, wax shape that gets stuck to the wall of a mold to create images in the finished candle. Once candle makers have created a candle design they are happy with, the professionals at Glow pour hot wax into the mold and voila, the candle is made.

In addition to candle making, Glow offers a variety of professionally created candles and candle accessories.  There is also a candle gift wrapping station in the studio for those planning on giving their candles as gifts.

If you need to ship any of the candles you make at Glow Candle Lounge, the San Jose PostalAnnex locations can ship your items via UPS shipping or FedEx shipping.  The friendly professionals at PostalAnnex can even compare shipping rates to find the best rate and service for your candles.
