April 10, 2014

Record Store Day, coming up on April 19, 2014, is a chance to celebrate and spread awareness about the independently owned record stores in the US and around the world. As a participant in the day, Underdog Records in Winston-Salem, NC will open at 8 AM on April 19th and will feature a variety of Record Store Day exclusive titles.  Plus, in the afternoon, customers can see Tyler Nail perform live in the store. Follow Underdog Records on Facebook for the latest info about Record Store Day.

Owned and operated by a Winston-Salem native, Underdog Records opened its brick-and-mortar location in November 2013.  The shop offers new and used vinyl and turntables, along with vintage stereo equipment, CDs, cassettes, accessories and more.  Browse through a variety of records from great musicians like Miles Davis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, Alice in Chains and much more.  Plus, don’t forget to check out the dollar bin to find some new music.

In addition to vinyl and turntables, Underdog frequently hosts host bands in the shop.  Upcoming events are posted on the Facebook page, so check in frequently to make sure you don’t miss a great, intimate show.  Also, the first and third Tuesday of each month is BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) at Little John's Tavern, which is across the parking lot from Underdog.  Winston-Salem locals can bring one of their albums to spin while socializing with other music lovers.

If you find records or equipment that you would like to send to out-of-town friends and family, stop by the Winston-Salem PostalAnnex to ship via UPS or FedEx.  The friendly professionals at PostalAnnex can even compare shipping rates to find the best rate and service for shipping your packages.
