Serving the Aloha community for over 30 years, customers will find new and used books in the store as well as eBooks on the website. Over the years, Jan’s has developed a group of loyal customers by offering personal service and a knowledgeable staff.
Inspired by her passion for books, the original owner, Jan, opened the store in March 1981, and it was a hit with Aloha locals. In 2000, Jan was ready for a change, so she sold the store to her longtime customer and employee, Debbie. After taking over, Debbie updated the store with a computerized inventory, customer computer system, and a store website. She continues to offer the personal service and selection that made Jan’s popular in the 80’s and 90’s.
Jan's makes a point of supporting the local Aloha authors by hosting regular book signings and dedicating shelf space to local authors. The store also makes an effort to support the community through events and sponsorships. In fact, last Saturday, Jan's participated in Aloha Days where they sold local history books. Ten percent of sales will go to the Aloha Community Library Association.
