Berkeley, CA locals and visitors who are craving chocolate have just the place to go: The Xocolate Bar.  Located on Solano Avenue, the Xocolate Bar was launched in July of 2006 by artists-turned-chocolatiers Malena Lopez-Maggi and Clive Brown.  Bringing their artistic experience and passion for food to the table, Malena and Clive develop unique recipes that chocolate lovers will be unable to resist.

The chocolates created at the Xocolate Bar are fair trade and 100 percent natural.  Using use organic, local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible, Malena and Clive change the available flavors weekly.  Customers can choose from delicious bonbons, fine chocolate bars, rich sipping chocolate, and solid chocolate figurines.  There are even many options for vegans.  Dark chocolate is naturally vegan, so by replacing the cream with coconut milk, fruit, agave nectar, and/or nuts, the Xocolate Bar is able to offer decadent chocolates for vegans.

On Sunday, July 21, Berkeley locals can attend the first ever art opening at The Xocolate Bar.  Malena and Clive will be displaying their new artwork and celebrating five years of making chocolate on Solano Avenue.  From 4pm – 6pm, Berkeley locals can stop by to enjoy light refreshments, sample new chocolate flavors, and see Malena and Clive’s artwork.

If you need to ship chocolate to out of town friends and family, visit the Berkeley PostalAnnex location where you can ship your items equipment via UPS or FedEx.  The friendly professionals at PostalAnnex can even compare shipping rates to find the best rate and service for shipping your chocolates.
