This is a great time of year to take an extra moment to be grateful for the good things in life and to try to help those who have been less fortunate.  San Jose locals who want their holiday shopping to benefit those in need will want to pay a visit to Unicorn Thrift Shop, a local boutique benefiting EMQ Families First.  EMQ Families First is a non-profit organization that helps children struggling with emotional and behavioral problems or mental illness.

Serving the San Jose community since 1993, Unicorn Thrift Shop is run by about 50 volunteers.  Don’t let the size of the shop fool you!  There is a wide variety of items available for men, women and children.  Pick up clothing, shoes and accessories, all in a variety of sizes and in good condition.  There is even a selection of school uniforms, perfect for families whose children attend a local school requiring uniforms.  In addition, there are home good items, like small appliances, kitchenware and china, along with small furniture and books.

After a day of Black Friday shopping, if you want to spend some time cleaning out your closet, consider donating your unwanted clothes to Unicorn Thrift Shop. The shop continues to serve the San Jose community through volunteers and the donations of locals.  All proceeds from the sale of donations goes to support EMQ Families First.

After enjoying your holiday weekend, stop by one of the San Jose PostalAnnex locations to take care of holiday shipping and packaging needs.  Featuring services from UPS and FedEx, the friendly professionals can compare shipping rates to help you find the best rate and service for your needs.  Remember that there are deadlines to get your gifts to their destination in time for Christmas, so give the PostalAnnex nearest you a call for more details about shipping deadlines for the holidays.
